Landslide has the effect over a certain area. However, tsunami waves hit a wide range of area. Therefore, it is considered as the most disastrous impact of an earthquake.

Tsunamis are ocean waves caused by large-scale disturbances. While they can reach heights of over 30 meters in extreme cases, the general range is often cited as starting from one meter.

The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami occurred on December 26, which is known as Boxing Day in many Commonwealth countries.

Tsunamis are primarily caused by underwater earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or landslides that displace a large volume of water.

• Indira point is a village located in the Nicobar district of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It was previously called as Pygmalion Point and Parsons Point. It is the southernmost tip of India’s territory.

One should not go to see the Coasts when the Tsunami warning is issued. They should listen to a NOAA Weather Radio, Coast Guard emergency frequency station, or other reliable source for updated emergency information. Authorities will issue a warning only if they believe there is a real threat from tsunami. They should follow instructions issued by local authorities.
