One important function of the police is to investigate any complaint about the commission of a crime. When one see violating the law, one immediately think of informing the police. The police officer investigate and prevents crimes from happening.

Civil courts exercise jurisdiction in the cases related to land, property and money transactions; arbitration; guardianship, marriages; divorce; and cases involving a Will.

When we see someone violating the law, we immediately think of informing the police. After a person is arrested, it is a court of law that decides whether the accused person is guilty or not. According to the Constitution, every individual charged of a crime has to be given a fair trial.

A. V. Dicey is the most widely known author of "Introduction to the study of the law of the constitution". Dicey viewed the necessity of establishing a stable legal system. He considered that a stable legal system is necessary to stop the injustice occur from following unjust law. In modern times the rule of law was propounded by A. V. Dicey.

Criminal law is the body of law that relates to crime. It regulates social conduct and proscribes whatever is threatening, harmful, or otherwise endangering the property, health, safety, and moral welfare of people. It includes the punishment of people who violate these laws. 

Article 105 of the Indian Constitution grants Members of Parliament immunity from any proceedings in any court in respect of anything said or any vote given by them in Parliament or any committee thereof.

Under Article 133 of the Indian Constitution, an appeal lies to the Supreme Court from any judgment of a High Court in civil proceedings if the High Court certifies that the case involves a substantial question of law of general importance.

India's border with Bangladesh has a strange problem of 'Enclaves and Adverse Possessions'. There are 111 Indian enclaves within Bangladesh and 51 Bangladeshi enclaves in India. Thirty-four tracts of Indian land are under the adverse possession of Bangladesh and 40 pieces of Bangladeshi land are in India's adverse possession. The area is densely populated, and the cultivation is carried out till the last inch of the border at many stretches. Though the Land Border Agreement of 1974 has provisions for the settlement of the issue of adverse possession, it has not been applied so far as the problem is administratively sensitive.
