Hunting and fishing is the main occupation of people living in Tundra. They hunt caribou, musk ox and other animals. Hunters do not apply the same techniques they use in many parts of the world due to lack of trees. Over hunting seriously endangers some species in the far north, especially musk oxen. Some natives are dependent on fishing as their occupation.

Eskimos diet is also known as Inuit diet. It describes the diet typically consumed by the people of the Arctic areas of the United States, Canada, Russia, and Denmark. Eskimos hunt animals for their diet. Fishing is also main source for their diet. They use both land and sea to find food. Eskimos diet is rich in fat. Seals, fishes, whales and land animals are the main source of Eskimos diet. Meat of caribou and reindeer is rich in protein.

The Eskimo word 'Igloo' means shelter. An igloo is a type of hut built from snow. It is domed shape and it is made of compact bricks of snow. It is mostly constructed by the Inuit tribes that live in parts of Canada and Greenland. Some igloos are temporary, while others are permanent. Igloos are warm housing in very cold climates.
