 After the decline of Vijayanagar the Bedanayaka paleyagars became dominant in Hyderabad-Karnataka. They were brave warriors. After 1800 they revolted against the British several times.
Causes :-  

1) Exploitation by the local Zamindars. 
2) Oppression by the British, and the passing of the Arms Act and the Forest Act. Provoked by the oppressions, the local rulers, the paleyagars and common people revolted. After 1800 there were more than twenty-five revolts. In most of these, the Bedanayakas played a major role. The aim of the revolts was to drive out the British.
