The issue of Partition of Bengal and failure of National Congress as an active party gave birth of extremism in the Indian National Congress. The Congress followers then divided into two groups i.e extremist and moderates. In Surat (1907) Rash Bihari Ghosh became the president of INC who was a moderate. Whereas the extremists demanded Bal Gangadhar Tilak or Lala Lajpat Rai should become the president. In Surat meeting, the tug of war between these two groups became more prominent.

Public facilities are services provided by the government or public institutions that are intended for the benefit of the general public, such as water, sanitation, and transportation.

Shramdaan means a voluntary contribution of people to any physical activity that requires physical effort. For example cleaning of lanes of villages by a group of people, cleaning of beaches, construction of temples or small village utility etc. Shramdaan is made of two words. "Shram" means labour and "daan" means contribution.

Hiware Bazar is a village in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. In 1972, the village experience severe drought. water shortage was a serious problem in that village prior to 1989. After 1989, the villagers started to do rainwater harvesting and drip-irrigation for water conservation. These things helped to fight against water scarcity. Now this village is known for its irrigation system and water conservation program.

A community is defined as a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common, often sharing a specific area.

There are several issues that affect our day to day life. Like education disparity, violence in homes and society, unequal distribution of resources,  poverty, etc. Turning a blind eye towards problems makes them worst. We should face the problems and should take proper measure to improve it. 

A dispute is an argument or disagreement over something. For example, the dispute between master and his servant, the dispute between workers and employers, the dispute between father and his son, etc. If the disputes are not serious, they should be solved within themselves mutually. But sometimes it becomes so serious that people need to visit courts for a solution.

Civic life is the public life of the citizen concerned with the affairs of community and nation. It is different from a private or personal life, which is devoted to the pursuit of private interests. The problems faced by people in cities and villages are civic issues. For examples, the problem of potholes in roads, pollution etc. These issues affect not only an individual but affect society as a whole. It disturbs public life altogether.

We all use public services and facilities. Water supply, electricity supply, health services, education and transport are some important public services. These services are meant for everyone. Our school is also a part of a system.

In Pre-historical era, human didn't know to cultivate the lands. When they started cultivating the land, they started to live in community or society. The agricultural based community resulting Village life. When the phase of Proto- Industrialisation began, it led the development of factories resulting formation of towns. After industrialization, towns kept extending and culture based on machines came into existence which led the formation of City life.
