The given statement is false. The molting of the skin occurs regularly in snakes. This is when old skin is outgrown. It is called shedding or ecdysis. Snakes will rub against rough surfaces to shed their skin. A shed skin is much longer than the snake that shed it, as the skin covers the top and bottom of each scale. 

The most important differences between poisonous and non poisonous snakes include :

Snakes can't hear, they can only feel the vibrations. It dances to the movement of pungi which is caused by it's mimic neurons and not to the sound of pungi.

The slippery female snake will discharge a pheromone noticeable all around that creates a unique fragrance that starts wind mating season. Male snakes from all over will smell the fragrance and will endeavor to mate with the female.

No variety of snakes are found on the Ireland. It is because during the last ice age, the whole of Ireland and mainland  was permanently covered with snow and ice. It is highly unlikely that any wildlife, which might have been in Ireland before this ice age, survived this period. When the climate warmed up again, snakes would have been able to recolonise Britain from the south, in any case there were land bridges to the continent from time to time. They would not, however, unless deliberately transported, be able to reestablish themselves in Ireland.

Venomous snakes are capable of injecting venom by their bite. They use venom for defense and killing prey. Viper and Kobra are examples of venomous snakes.

• Snakes are carnivorous. Snakes do not have the right kind of teeth to chew their food so they eat their catch whole. Their jaw is structured in such a way that it allows the mouth to open wider than their own body in order to swallow their prey whole.
