The Karakoram Highway (KKH) is one of the highest paved roads in the world, connecting the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan with the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. It crosses the Karakoram mountain range through the Khunjerab Pass.
