Anil Kumble holds India's best bowling figures in ODIs with 6/12 against the West Indies in the 1993 Hero Cup final at Kolkata. This remarkable spell of leg-spin bowling remains unmatched by any Indian bowler in ODI cricket history. Kapil Dev, Ashish Nehra, and Ajit Agarkar all had excellent bowling performances but none surpassed Kumble's 6-wicket haul.

Narendra Hirwani holds India's best match bowling performance in Tests with 16 wickets for 136 runs (8/61 and 8/75) against West Indies in 1988 on debut. This remains the best match analysis by an Indian bowler. Anil Kumble's 10/74 is the best innings performance, but not match performance.
