Potti Sriramulu undertook a hunger strike demanding a separate state for Telugu-speaking people. His death in 1952 triggered widespread protests, leading the government to create Andhra State.

The Allahabad High Court gave the verdict in 1975 that Indira Gandhi; the then Prime Minister had misused the government machinery during her election campaign.

The period of national emergency lasted from 1975 to 1977 and after that general elections were conducted. During this turbulent period, the fundamental rights of Indian citizens were suspended. Due to the emergency, the Indian administration became disciplined, but the human rights were restricted.

In 1975, the people of Sikkim voted for joining the Indian republic and Sikkim became a full-fledged state in the Indian federation on 26th April, 1975.

Lal Bahadur Shastri succeeded Pandit Jawaharlal nehru and became the nixt Prime Minister of India.  he gave the slogan 'Jai Jawan Jai Kisan' with which he highlighted the importance of Indian soldiers and Indian farmers.

Rajiv Gandhi took the lead in solving the issues of the Tamil minority in Sri Lanka. He promoted the idea of a united Sri Lanka with internal autonomy to the Tamil community, but his efforts in this regard proved to be in vain.

Indira Gandhi became the Prime Minister of India in 1966, following the sudden death of Lal Bahadur Shastri.

The Industrial Policy Resolution of 1956 was a landmark policy statement presented by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to the Parliament.

At the end of the plan period in 1956, five Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) were established as major technical institutions. IIT(s) are autonomous public institutions established by the Government of India.
Main objective was to motivate technological up-gradation in the economy. 

 V.D. Savarkar established a secret revolutionary society ‘Mitra Mela’, in Nasik in 1899  It was one among the several revolutionary societies functioning at that time, which believed in the overthrow of British rule through armed rebellion.

 Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev bombed central legislative assembly in New Delhi on 8 April 1929 against the passage of the Public Safety Bill and the Trade Disputes Bill which would reduce the civil liberties of citizens.  The aim was to make the deaf hear not to kill.

The famous slogan Inquilab Zindabad was given by Hasrat Mohani. The slogan was also used by Bhagat Singh, who shouted it after bombing the Central Assembly in Delhi. It became one of the rallying cries of the Indian independence movement. 

Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan was known as Badshah Khan and “Sarhadi Gandhi” and Frontier Gandhi. He was born in 1890 and Died on January 1988. He was a Pashtun leader and ardent follower of Mahatma Gandhi and was known for his non-violent opposition to British Rule. He started the Khudai Khidmatgar movement (Servants of God). Khudai Khidmatgar movement was a non-violent freedom struggle against the British Empire by the Pashtuns or Pathans of the North-West Frontier Province led by Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.

In his prison cell, Bhagat Singh wrote a pamphlet in response to him being accused of vanity by not accepting God in the face of death. The title of that pamphlet is "Why I am an Atheist".

V. D. Savarkar's revolutionary activities began while studying in India and England, where he was associated with the India House and founded student societies including Abhinav Bharat Society and the Free India Society, as well as publications espousing the cause of complete Indian independence by revolutionary means.
