The Maharashtra government received the Kumud Bansal Committee report, which was formed to draft a policy for regulating school fees in private schools. This committee was constituted in response to parental concerns about arbitrary fee hikes. Other states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi have their own mechanisms but did not receive this specific committee's report.

Haryana state government launched the Bal Urja Rakshak Mission Programme to make school children aware of energy conservation, renewable energy, and climate change. The name translates to 'Child Energy Protector Mission'. This program focuses on creating energy consciousness among students. The other states listed have implemented various child-focused schemes but not this specific energy conservation mission.

Haryana is implementing the Indira Child Health Scheme, which provides health check-ups for all children in government schools by specialist doctors. This is a state-specific health initiative targeting school children. The other states listed have various health and education schemes but not this specific named program focused on child health in government schools.

Gujarat government's ambitious programme to reduce child and maternal mortality rate seems to have caught the fancy of other states in the country. As many as 8 states in India have decided to adopt Gujarat government's “Chiranjeevi Yojna”. States to adopt Chiranjeevi Yojna of Gujarat government include names such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Kerala. The maternal mortality rate (per lakh live births) in Gujarat was 389 in 1989, which has declined to 136 in 2007-08.

Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation, which is the designated agency for the formation of the bank, will have 11 per cent stake in the proposed banking company. It will be registered as a non-banking finance company in the beginning and later get transformed into a full-fledged Shariah compliant bank. The NBFC will become operational in 2010.

The Government of Rajasthan has embarked upon Bhamashah Financial Empowerment Scheme, (BFES) whereby the Government deposits Rs.1500/- into the savings accounts of 50 lakh rural families belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL), Small & Marginal Farmers and identified SC/ST families.

The political impasse in the Darjeeling hills arises   from   the   GJM's   demand   for   a   separate Gorkhaland State comprising Darjeeling district and certain   areas contiguous to   it.   The West Bengal government has categorically ruled out the creation of any such State.

Arunachal Pradesh will get its first rail link by 2012 when a 33-km rail line run by Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) would connect Itanagar with Harmuti in Assam. Currently Assam is the only state in North East to have railway network. The foundation stone at a proposed bridge site on Dikrong River at Doimukh was laid recently.

Maharashtra's Agriculture Department won the Shining World Leadership Award for promoting eco-friendly agricultural practices. This award by the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association recognizes efforts in sustainable and environmentally conscious farming. Haryana, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh were not the recipients of this specific award.

Orissa (now Odisha) was historically classified as a high poverty state due to its low per capita income and high poverty levels. In contrast, states like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Karnataka had relatively better economic indicators and lower poverty ratios during the study period. The classification was based on poverty ratios and economic development parameters.

Golconda Fort, the historic fortification and former diamond trading center, is located in Hyderabad (now in Telangana, but was in Andhra Pradesh until 2014). The answer refers to the pre-2014 political boundaries. It is not in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, or Bihar.

The Ranjit Sagar Dam, also known as the Thein Dam, is part of a hydroelectric project constructed by the Government of Punjab on the Ravi in the state of Punjab. 

Kerala became the first Indian state to reserve government jobs for HIV+ candidates in 2008, setting a precedent for inclusive employment practices. This progressive policy aimed to reduce stigma and ensure equal opportunities for people living with HIV/AIDS. Other states followed with similar policies in subsequent years.
