Indian Government Organisations and Roles

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India was established by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) as an autonomous body under section 10(u) of AICTE act, 1987 for periodic evaluations of technical institutions & programmes basis according to specified norms and standards as recommended by AICTE council.

Finance Commission (Article 280) is a constitutional body that recommends financial relations between Union and states, but is NOT a committee of Parliament. The three Financial Committees of Parliament are: Public Accounts Committee, Estimates Committee, and Committee on Public Undertakings - all composed of MPs and examine executive expenditure.

According to Section 41 of the Act, the State Government has the power to make rule to regulate such traffic. The Centre Government has the powers to make rules across the custom frontiers. The forest settlement officer has to implement and administrate such rules. The collector is responsible for collection of revenue.

The Department of Space (DOS) is an indian government department responsible for administration of the indian space programme. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is the primary research and development arm of the DoS. The Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL) is also one of its research centers.

Department of Higher Education is the department under Ministry of Human Resource Development that oversees higher education in India.

The Atomic Energy Commission is a governing body functioning under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. The DAE is under the direct charge of the Prime Minister.

Kendriya Vidyalaya is a system of central government schools that have been instituted under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The All India Services comprise Civil Services of India, namely the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Forest Service (IFS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS). Examination for recruitment of IAS and IPS is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on the basis of the annual Civil Services Examination. 

CONCOR (Container Corporation of India Ltd) is a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways. It was established in 1988 to handle containerized cargo and operates container trains across the Indian Railways network. CONCOR plays a crucial role in logistics and freight transportation in India.

The Sarkaria Commission (1983-88) was appointed to review Centre-State relations and recommend changes. Inter-river disputes between states fall under Centre-State relations as they require central intervention for resolution. The Commission examined various aspects of federal structure including water disputes, though its terms of reference were broader.

The Lokpal and Lokayukta institutions in India are modeled after the Scandinavian Ombudsman system. The Ombudsman is an independent official who investigates complaints against government authorities and public servants. This concept was adopted from countries like Sweden, Finland, and Denmark to create anti-corruption bodies in India.

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority is the licensing authority for surveyors. 

The Regional Transport Office or Regional Transport Authority (RTO/RTA) is the organisation of Indian government responsible for maintaining a database of drivers and vehicles of various states of India.
