Harry initially believes Sirius Black betrayed his parents to Voldemort and wants him dead, as this was the widely accepted story. This misunderstanding drives much of the plot in Prisoner of Azkaban. Peter Pettigrew was actually the traitor, while Remus Lupin and Dumbledore were allies, and Lucius Malfoy is a Death Eater.

Sirius Black is Harry's godfather, a fact revealed in Prisoner of Azkaban. This relationship is central to the book's plot, as Sirius was wrongly imprisoned for crimes committed by Peter Pettigrew. Hagrid is Harry's friend and guardian figure, while Dumbledore is the headmaster and mentor.

Professor Remus Lupin is a werewolf, a condition he was afflicted with as a child. This is why he takes regular potion (Wolfsbane Potion) and needs to isolate himself during the full moon. An Animagus can transform at will, a Death Eater serves Voldemort, and Sirius Black (not Lupin) is Harry's godfather.

Harry encounters Dementors three times in Prisoner of Azkaban: on the Hogwarts Express (train), during the Quidditch match, and at the lake where he and Sirius are attacked. Each attack is increasingly serious and requires Harry to master the Patronus Charm. Diagon Alley is never mentioned as a Dementor attack location in the book.

The Patronus Charm is 'Expecto Patronum,' used to repel Dementors and Lethifolds. It conjures a silvery guardian that takes an animal form unique to the caster. Avada Kedavra is the Killing Curse, Stupefy is the Stunning Spell, and 'Experilliamus' is not a real spell.

Harry initially believes his father's Patronus saved him and Sirius from the Dementors at the lake. Later, he learns it was actually his own future self casting the Patronus due to time travel. This misunderstanding creates tension but leads to Harry mastering the Patronus Charm.

Harry sees a white stag (adult male deer) across the lake when he is rescued by his Patronus (which takes the form of a stag) from the Dementors. This is a significant moment in the book/film where he recognizes his father's animagus form.

Harry receives a Firebolt broomstick anonymously at the end of Prisoner of Azkaban. It was actually sent by Sirius Black, his godfather, though this isn't revealed immediately. The Nimbus 2001 was his previous broom.

The Knight Bus takes Harry to the Leaky Cauldron, which is the entrance to Diagon Alley. This is where wizarding folk gather and where Harry can access Gringotts and the wizarding shopping area.

When Dementors attack Harry, he hears his mother Lily screaming as she protects him from Voldemort. This is his worst memory - the night his parents died. The 'woman screaming' is his mother's voice.

Ignotus Peverell was the youngest of the three Peverell brothers and the original owner of the Cloak of Invisibility, one of the three Deathly Hallows. He used the Cloak to successfully hide from Death until he was ready to greet him as an old friend, passing it down through generations to Harry Potter.

Helga Hufflepuff's Cup, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes, was hidden deep within the Lestranges' vault in Gringotts Bank. Harry, Hermione, and Ron broke into Gringotts with the help of Griphook the goblin to retrieve it, where it was ultimately destroyed by Hermione Granger using a Basilisk fang.

Nagini, Voldemort's snake companion and final Horcrux, was destroyed by Neville Longbottom during the Battle of Hogwarts. Neville pulled the Sword of Gryffindor from the Sorting Hat and beheaded Nagini with it, making him the only person to destroy a Horcrux other than Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Dumbledore.

In the Harry Potter universe, Ariana Dumbledore is the younger sister of Albus Dumbledore. Kendra is his mother, Bathilda Bagshot is a family neighbor, and Muriel is Ron Weasley's great-aunt.
