A "gadget" is a small, specialized mechanical or electronic device designed to perform a specific function. While a "calculator" is a specific type of gadget and an "app" is software, "gadget" is the general term for such physical equipment.

An item is considered affixed, or a fixture, if it is permanently attached to the real property, such as a wall or ceiling, so that removing it would cause damage or alter the room's utility. A chalkboard is typically bolted or mounted directly to the wall, making it a fixture. Computers, printers, and garbage cans are easily movable and are classified as personal property.

USB-C features a symmetrical reversible connector that can be inserted in either orientation. USB-A, Micro-USB, and Mini-USB all have specific orientations and must be plugged in correctly. The reversible design is USB-C's key usability feature.
