An optical pen or light pen is a light-sensitive input device that allows users to write or draw directly on a computer screen. It detects the presence or absence of light from the screen, enabling handwriting input and direct interaction with displayed content.

Magnetic Ink Character Reader (MICR) is a device that identifies a character that is written with ink containing particles of magnetic material. This device is mainly used to read bank cheques.

Marker beacons use different audio and light signals to indicate position along the approach path.
