The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) is the nearest major galaxy to the Milky Way and is considered our neighbor galaxy at approximately 2.5 million light-years away. It's the largest galaxy in our Local Group and is visible to the naked eye under dark sky conditions. The Milky Way is our own galaxy, not a neighbor, while X-2 and Alpha-K7 are fictional or incorrect galaxy names not recognized in astronomy.
