JRD Tata (Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata) founded India's first commercial airline, Tata Airlines, in 1932, which later became Air India. He is widely recognized as the father of Indian civil aviation. Ratan Tata came later, and Jamsetji Tata was the founder of the Tata group but not specifically involved in aviation.
