Peru's official currency is the Nuevo Sol (PEN), which replaced the inti in 1991 after hyperinflation. It is subdivided into 100 céntimos and issued by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru. Naira is Nigeria's currency, US Dollar is America's, and Dong is Vietnam's. The sol is named after the Inca sun god.
