Sam Pitroda (note spelling: Pitroda, not Pitrida) was born in Titlagarh, Odisha (then Orissa) in 1941. He is a famous telecom engineer and policy maker who revolutionized India's telecommunications infrastructure and served as advisor to Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Ahmedabad is in Gujarat, Nagpur in Maharashtra, and Bellary in Karnataka - none are his birthplace.
