Lord Vishnu took the Narasimha avatar to kill Hiranyakashipu, a demon king who had received a boon making him nearly invincible. He could not be killed by man or beast, indoors or outdoors, or during day or night, so Vishnu appeared as a half-lion, half-man at twilight on a palace threshold to slay him.

Pushkar, Rajasthan is home to one of the very few ancient temples dedicated to Lord Brahma in the world. The Brahma Temple in Pushkar dates back to the 14th century and is considered one of the most sacred sites for Hindus, as Brahma worship is relatively rare in India with very few temples dedicated solely to him.

Lord Vishnu's Kurma avatar was the tortoise form he took during the churning of the cosmic ocean (Samudra Manthan). In this incarnation, Vishnu supported the Mandara mountain on his back, allowing the gods and demons to churn the ocean using the serpent Vasuki as a rope to obtain the nectar of immortality (amrita).

Nathdwara, home to the famous Shreenathji temple, is located approximately 48 kilometers from Udaipur in the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. While accessible from Jaipur, Udaipur is geographically the closest major city to Nathdwara and serves as the most convenient base for pilgrims visiting this important Pushtimarg sect shrine.

Imran Khan (the former Pakistani cricketer) appeared as a child artist in both Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992) before becoming a legendary cricketer. Aamir Khan was the adult lead actor in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, not a child artist. Fardeen and Saif Ali Khan are from a different film family and didn't appear in these films as children.

Shahid Kapoor appeared as a child artist in Complan advertisements alongside Ayesha Takia in the 1990s. He later debuted as a lead actor and is now a major Bollywood star. Ranbir Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor, and Abhishek Bachchan were not part of this particular Complan campaign.

Urmila Matondkar played a boy's role in the 1980 film Kalyug early in her career. She also appeared as the daughter of Rekha and Raj Babbar's characters in Parikshit. Juhi Chawla, Shilpa Shetty, and Madhuri Dixit did not play such roles in these films.

Kunal Khemu played a child artist role in Raja Hindustani and later debuted as a lead actor in Mahesh Bhatt's film. His performance was critically appreciated and showed promise for his career. Shahid Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, and Hrithik Roshan were not the child actor in Raja Hindustani.

Justice Ranganath Mishra was the first Oriya (Odia) Chief Justice of India, serving from 1990-1991. He later headed the National Human Rights Commission. Balakrishnan was a later CJI (Kerala), Gobindchandra Mishra and Gopal Praharaj are notable Odia figures but not Chief Justices. This is an important milestone in Odia representation in the judiciary.

Jayant Mahapatra (not Mahanty) was the first Indian poet to receive the Sahitya Akademi Award for English poetry, awarded in 1981 for his collection "Relationship." He's a renowned Odia poet who writes in both English and Odia. The other options include misspelled names (Mahanty vs Mahapatra) and other notable Odia poets but not the first English poetry Sahitya Akademi winner.

Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra was the first person from Odisha to receive the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award, in 2001 for his contributions to Odissi dance. He was a legendary Odissi exponent and guru. Sanjukta Panigrahi and Kum Kum Mahanty were notable Odissi dancers, and Guru Ramaniranjan Jena was also a dance guru, but Kelucharan Mohapatra was the first Padma Vibhushan recipient from Odisha.

Sam Pitroda (note spelling: Pitroda, not Pitrida) was born in Titlagarh, Odisha (then Orissa) in 1941. He is a famous telecom engineer and policy maker who revolutionized India's telecommunications infrastructure and served as advisor to Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Ahmedabad is in Gujarat, Nagpur in Maharashtra, and Bellary in Karnataka - none are his birthplace.
