The Arthashastra, an ancient Indian treatise on statecraft, economics, and military strategy, was written by Kautilya (also known as Chanakya) around the 3rd century BCE. Charaka wrote on medicine, Aryabhatta was an astronomer-mathematician, and Gagabhatta was involved in Shivaji's coronation.
