Maha Kali is the fierce form of the goddess. Kali emerged from Durga's forehead to defeat demons. Kali and Durga are considered different manifestations of the same Divine Mother (Devi). Parvati is the gentle consort of Shiva, Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, and Rukmani (Rukmini) is Krishna's wife.
