Sourav Ganguly was the iconic captain and leader of Kolkata Knight Riders in the inaugural IPL seasons. He led KKR from 2008-2010 and was their most prominent player. Chris Gayle never played for KKR, Ajit Agarkar joined later, and Rohan Gavaskar was a supporting player.
