Parshuram is the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu, born to sage Jamadagni and his wife Renuka. He is known for his axe (parshu) and is one of the few immortals (Chiranjeevi) in Hindu tradition. The avatars in order are: Matsya (1st), Kurma (2nd), Varaha (3rd), Narasimha (4th), Vamana (5th), Parshuram (6th), Rama (7th), Krishna (8th), Buddha (9th), and Kalki (10th).
