Panaji (also called Panjim) is the capital city of Goa, a state on India's west coast. Vasco da Gama is Goa's largest city, but Panaji serves as the administrative capital where the state legislature and government offices are located. Calangute is a tourist beach town, and Margao is a commercial center.
