Salwa Judum was a state-sponsored vigilante movement in Chhattisgarh aimed at countering Naxalite insurgents. It involved mobilizing local tribal people into a militia to resist Maoist influence in the region. The movement was highly controversial and was eventually disbanded following a Supreme Court ruling in 2011.
