Kathalikka Neramillai (1964) was the first Tamil film shot in Eastman Color technology, which was a significant improvement over earlier color processes. The film was directed by C.V. Sridhar and starred Ravichandran and others. Naadodi Mannan and Ulagam Sutrum Valiban were color films but came later, while Alibabavum 40 Thirudarkalum (1955) was the first color film but not Eastman Color.
