The Pancharatras and Bhagavatas were early Vaishnava sectarian movements that emphasized devotion to Vishnu and particularly to Krishna Vasudeva. Over time, these groups merged into and contributed significantly to what became known as Vaishnavism. They incorporated elements of Vedic ritual, popular devotion, and philosophical theology centered on Vishnu/Krishna worship. The Vajrayanists were Buddhists, Sauras were sun-worshippers, and Shaivites worshipped Shiva - none of these absorbed the Pancharatra/Bhagavata traditions.
