Zanzibar, an archipelago off the coast of Tanzania, is called the "Land of Cloves" because it was historically the world's largest producer of cloves. The clove trade made Zanzibar extremely prosperous in the 19th century. Congo, Kenya, and Zambia are African countries but not associated with clove production.
