Nanga Parbat is known as one of the fastest-rising mountains in the world due to its dramatic vertical relief. Located in Pakistan, it rises nearly 7,000 meters from the Indus Valley floor. This characteristic gives it the nickname 'Killer Mountain.' Everest and K2 are taller overall but don't have the same relative local rise.
