Lava is a traditional folk dance performed in the Lakshadweep islands, typically by men during festive occasions. The name derives from the rhythmic movement resembling ocean waves. Maharashtra, Pondicherry (Puducherry), and Andaman and Nicobar Islands are not associated with this dance form.
