Mahad is the location of the Varadvinayak temple, one of the eight Ashtavinayak temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha in Maharashtra. Varadvinayak means 'giver of boons' and this temple is believed to fulfill the wishes of devotees. Chintamani is at Theur, Moreshwar is at Morgaon, and Vigneshwar is at Ozar.
