From which animal is the valuable Pashmina wool obtained?

Pashmina wool, also known as cashmere, is obtained from the undercoat of Himalayan goats (specifically the Changthangi breed). These goats have adapted to the cold Himalayan climate by growing extremely fine, soft wool fibers. The wool is traditionally hand-spun and woven into luxurious shawls. Regular sheep wool comes from sheep, while deer produce antlers/velvet, and rams are male sheep.
