The 24th Amendment (1971) explicitly affirmed Parliament's power to amend any part of the Constitution, including Fundamental Rights. This was a response to the Golaknath case (1967) which had held that Fundamental Rights were beyond amending power. The Kesavananda Bharati case (1973) later established the basic structure doctrine as a limit.
