Content or Application Server
SCS (Site Creation Services) Source in Documentum is installed on the Content Server. The Content Server handles content storage, management, and the SCS services for web publishing. Application Servers handle client requests, and Database Servers store metadata, but SCS Source specifically runs on the Content Server.
In EMC Documentum's Site Caching Services (SCS) architecture, an 'SCS Source' component is configured and installed on the Content Server that owns/originates the content (the source repository), while a corresponding 'SCS Target' runs at the destination repository. So Content Server is correct. Application Server and Database Server host different tiers (business logic and storage respectively) and don't host the SCS Source component; 'Content or Application Server' is too broad/wrong since it's specifically the Content Server.
