Control limits on a control chart are calculated from the actual process data itself, typically set at ±3 standard deviations from the process mean. They reflect the voice of the process - the natural variation inherent in the process. Specification limits come from customers, not from GB or BB roles.
Control limits in statistical process control (like on a control chart) are calculated directly from the observed variation of the process itself — typically using the process mean and its standard deviation — rather than being set by customer requirements or arbitrary targets. They reflect what the process is naturally capable of producing, which is why they're distinguished from specification limits (which do come from the customer).
