What are raisins made from?

Raisins are dried grapes, specifically dried wine grapes or table grapes. The dehydration process concentrates the natural sugars, preserving the fruit and creating the sweet, wrinkled product we call raisins. Blackcurrants become currants, cherries become dried cherries, and pomegranates are not typically dried into common snacks.
