Jawaharlal Nehru was born in Allahabad (now Prayagraj) on November 14, 1889. Allahabad was also his political base where he was elected to the Indian National Congress presidency multiple times. Delhi became significant later as India's capital where he served as Prime Minister. Lucknow and Jammu are major cities but not associated with Nehru's birth.
