Which European power arrived in Mumbai first

The Portuguese were the first European power to arrive in Mumbai (then Bombay) in 1534, acquiring it from the Gujarati Sultanate. They established trading posts and controlled the region until the British gained possession in 1661, when the port was given as part of Catherine of Braganza's dowry. England, France, and Spain arrived later and never controlled Mumbai before the Portuguese.
