Kanchenjunga is the highest mountain peak entirely within India, located on the border between Sikkim and Nepal. While Mount Everest is higher, it lies entirely in Nepal. K2 (Godwin-Austen) is located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which India claims as part of Jammu and Kashmir but is not under Indian administration. Nanda Devi is the second-highest peak entirely within India.
