The average radius of Earth from the surface to the center is approximately 6,371 kilometers (6,370 km is the commonly used rounded value). This distance represents the radius of Earth's spherical shape. The other options refer to different layers or distances: 3,470 km approximates the inner core radius, 2,900 km the outer core boundary, and 4,600 km doesn't correspond to a standard Earth measurement.

The Earth's core is primarily composed of iron (Fe) and nickel (Ni), based on seismic evidence and studies of meteorites. This composition explains Earth's magnetic field and high density. P-waves and S-waves behave differently in the liquid outer core versus solid inner core.

This is a myth. You cannot voluntarily kill yourself by holding your breath because of the body's autonomic breathing reflex. Before oxygen deprivation becomes fatal, you will lose consciousness. Once unconscious, your brainstem's respiratory centers automatically take over and restart breathing. This is a protective survival mechanism that prevents death from voluntary breath-holding. While people have passed out from holding their breath too long, they resume breathing when unconscious and survive.

The actual density of microorganisms on human skin is far lower than 20 million per square inch. While human skin does host many microscopic organisms (bacteria, fungi, mites), the typical estimate of 20 million refers to the total across the entire body surface, not a single square inch.
