Dadabhai Naoroji (1825-1917) was respectfully called the 'Grand Old Man of India' for his pioneering role in the Indian independence movement and economic nationalism. He was the first Indian to be elected to the British Parliament and authored 'Poverty and Un-British Rule in India', highlighting the economic exploitation of India by the British.

The Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu, has the tallest gopuram (temple tower) in India at approximately 239 feet (73 meters). The Rajagopuram of this temple, built in the Dravidian architectural style, is an imposing structure visible from miles away. Anjali Bhagwat, a renowned Indian rifle shooter, had the honor of lighting the Olympic flame at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. This ceremony was part of the Olympic flame relay for the Athens 2004 Olympics. Anjali Bhagwat was an accomplished sportsperson, having won multiple gold medals at the Commonwealth Championships and representing India at the Olympics.

This is the famous dialogue 'Aisa to Aadmi Life mein doich time bhagta hai. Olympic ka race ho, yaa Police ka case ho. Tum kisliye bhaagta hai bhai?' from the 1977 blockbuster movie 'Amar Akbar Anthony'. This iconic dialogue was delivered by Amitabh Bachchan's character Anthony Gonsalves in a comic scene, where he's comically explaining why people run. The film is a classic masala entertainer directed by Manmohan Desai.

The Chitirai Tiruvizha is the annual festival celebrated at the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, marking the celestial wedding of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar. Srirangam, Kanyakumari, and Thiruchendur are important pilgrimage sites but are not associated with this specific festival.

Kanjanur is the Navagraha temple dedicated to Lord Sukran (Venus), one of the nine planetary deities in Tamil Nadu. Alangudi is for Guru (Jupiter), Keezhaperumpallam for Ketu, and Thingalur for Chandran (Moon).
