The three standard methods for measuring national income are the Product (Value Added) Method, the Expenditure Method, and the Income Method.

Average means value derived by way of dividing the total value by the total number of units. Whenever any goods are sold or services are provided to any consumer then amount so received from the consumer is termed as revenue or receipts.

Transfer incomes, such as pensions or scholarships, are payments made without any corresponding production of goods or services. Therefore, they are excluded from national income calculations.

The sale of second-hand goods is not included in national income because the value was already counted when the item was originally produced. Including it again would lead to double counting.

The income method is often referred to as the factor cost method because it sums up the factor incomes (wages, rent, interest, profit) earned by factors of production.

Unpaid services, such as household chores performed by family members, are excluded from national income because they are not exchanged in the market and lack a reliable monetary value.

The expenditure method is generally considered more difficult to apply in many developing economies due to data limitations regarding private final consumption expenditure, making it less commonly used than the product method.

Net factor income from abroad is a component of Gross National Product. If it is positive, it adds to the domestic income to arrive at the national income.

According to the Keynesian consumption function, as disposable income increases, both consumption and savings tend to increase.

Public revenue refers to the income generated by the government through various sources such as taxes, fees, and profits from public enterprises.
