Road ways are mostly developed in Rajasthan because roads are reachable in every part of the state like rural and tribal areas too. Longest highway of the state is NH-8 which connects Rajasthan to Delhi and Mumbai.

The first train in Rajasthan ran in the year 1874. It travelled from Bandikui to Agra Fort. From then onwards there was continuous development in Railways. Total length of railways in the state of Rajasthan is about 6000 Kms.

For the development of roads, Indian government has announced Bharatmala Pariyojana. In this programme thousands of kilometers of roads have been proposed in Rajasthan. Due to strategic importance about 1500 kilometers of road passes through Rajasthan.
