The J. Chokka Rao Devadula lift irrigation scheme is a lift irrigation scheme in India. It is the second biggest of its kind in Asia. Devadula is the place in Warangal District, Telangana, where the scheme's intake well is located. The project is specially designed to lift water from the River Godavari to irrigate more than 600,000 acres (2,400 sq.km) in the drought-prone Telangana state.

The Satavahana dynasty had huge realm distributed across current Maharashtra, parts of Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The capital of the Satavahana's kingdom was located on the bank of holy river Godavari and it was named as Pratishthan i.e. today's Paithan.

Once in every 12 years, Kumbh Mela is organized on the bank of the river Godavari. People come from different parts of the country be to celebrate this festival and takes holy bath in the river.

It is the oldest power plant in Telangana state and has been causing pollution more than the norms and not operating at the desired Plant Load Factor. 

Konaseema is the delta region in East Godavari District of Coastal Andhra Pradesh. It is regarded as East Kerala due to its similarities with the Kerala backwaters. It is surrounded by tributaries of the Godavari River and the Bay of Bengal.  It has numerous coconut trees and paddy fields, Konaseema coconuts are exported to various places of India and the price is lesser due to economies of scale.

Kumbha Mela is celebrated at Nasik on the bank of the river Godavari. This Mela is celebrated at an interval of 12 years. The date of the Kumbh Mela is determined by zodiac position of sun, moon, and Jupiter. Millions of people gather in the bank of Godavari to take a holy bath in the in the river.

The famous Saraswati temple is located at Basar in former Andhra Pradesh now it comes under Nirmal district of state Telangana. This is a Hindu temple of the goddess of knowledge. It is situated on the bank of the river Godavari. 

Triambakeswar temple is situated on the Trimbak, from this place Godavari river is originated. It comes in the district Nasik of Maharashtra state. Among the twelve Jyothirlings of  Lard Shiva it is important and unique. Here the ling of Shiva is up side down. This temple was constructed by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao.

Hazoor Sahib, also known as Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib and Abchal Nagar, is one of the five 'takhts' in Sikhism. It is located on the banks of the River Godavari at the city of Nanded in the state of Maharashtra. The gurudwara within the complex is known as Sach-Khand (Realm of Truth).
