Spectrometer Infrared -2 (SIR-2) is an infrared spectrometer build for remote sensing of the lunar surface. SIR-2 represents german scientific contribution to the Indian chandrayaan lunar mission. The project is funded by the Max Planck society and partly by European space agency.
