NCBC is a constitutional body which comes under the ministry of social justice and empowerment.

There are five members in the national commission for other backward classes.

The full form of NCST is national commission for schedule tribes which was established by amending Article 338 and inserting a new article 338A in the constitution through the constitution (89th Amendment ) Act, 2003.

The tenure of the chairman of the national scheduled tribes commission is not fixed, he remains at the post till the pleasure of the president of Indian.

BC- C (Backward castes C- category) are not considered backward class of India with 1% reservation at state level and at national level they come under other backward class.

NCBC stands for the National commission for Backward classes. It is a constitutional Body under the ministry of social justice and empowerment.

The  Government has constitutional obligation to provide for the welfare of the OBCs and consequentially by the decision of the Supreme court 27% of the jobs are reserved for the OBCs in government sector.

In Indra sawhney case of 1992, supreme court had directed the government to create a permanent body to entertain examine and recommend the inclusion and exclusion of various backward classes for the purpose of benefits and protection.

Article 342 A empowers president to specify socially and educationally backward classes in various states and union territories.
