Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) was established in 1962 as the premier industrial infrastructure development agency of GoM. The main objective is to set up industrial areas for planned and systematic industrial development and to function as a special planning authority in development of industrial areas. MIDC has one of the largest industrial land banks amongst all the Industrial development corporations in India.

Maharashtra State accounts for more than 20 per cent of the countrys software export. In order to promote balanced growth of IT Industry in the State, GoM came up with its IT & ITES Policy. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO) and Software Technology Parks of India have developed 37 public IT parks.

Logistics is recognised as an international service today, with the potential to trade globally and earn foreign exchange for the country. At present, this sector faces several challenges in terms of non-availability of adequate space, lack of skilled workforce, in-adequate infrastructure in terms of roads, rail, etc. The policy aims to address these challenges. The main objectives of this policy are :

• Make Maharashtra a part of global supply chain
• Upgrade from traditional warehousing to fully integrated value added logistics services
• Improve efficiency and reduction in logistics cost
• Improve overall logistics infrastructure in the State to ensure last mile connectivity

Maharashtras Logistics Parks Policy 2018 aims to:

• Develop logistics clusters in the State 
• Develop at least 25 integrated multi-modal logistics parks across the State 
• Promote a minimum of 100 logistics parks

Maharashtra State Innovative Start-up Policy 2018 has been formulated with a vision to create an innovation based economy and develop entrepreneurial spirit across the State. 

Following measures are taken by Maharashtra Government for development of economic infrastructure:

• Increasing installed capacity of electricity generation
• Rural electrification, network improvement and programmes for energy conservation
  
• Modified direct benefit transfer scheme to LPG consumers in the state
  
• Metro Railway has started at Mumbai and Nagpur

Economic infrastructure facilitates production and distribution of goods and services for economic development. Following comes under the economic infrastructure:

• Energy
• Transport
• Communication

To improve the adult literacy in the state, innovative schemes like "Each One Teach One" and "Sakshar Bharat Abhiyan" are implemented with community participation.

Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) is the nodal agency for implementation of Maharashtra Tourism Policy, 2016. MTDC launched the Mahabhraman scheme to bring different experimental projects such as agro tourism, village tourism, food tourism, safaris, tribal lifestyles etc. under one roof.
