Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address in 1863, containing the famous phrase 'government of the people, by the people, for the people.' This defined democratic governance. George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, and John Adams did not make this famous statement.

John F. Kennedy announced the goal of landing an American on the moon in his 1961 speech to Congress, leading to the Apollo program. FD Roosevelt, Jimmy Carter, and Richard Nixon were not the presidents who initiated the moon mission.
