Russian uses the Cyrillic script, while Portuguese, Italian, and Polish all use the Latin script (with diacritical marks for Polish). This makes Russian the clear odd one out on the basis of writing system. The Cyrillic alphabet originated in the 9th century and is visually distinct from Latin-based scripts.

Mandarin Chinese has the most native speakers worldwide (over 900 million), making it the most spoken language by native speaker count. While English has more total speakers including second-language speakers, questions typically refer to native speakers unless specified.

Linguists estimate approximately 7,000 distinct living languages worldwide, and when including dialects and regional varieties, the total reaches approximately 9,000 different linguistic systems.

English possesses the largest vocabulary of any modern language, with approximately 250,000 distinct words in common use and potentially over 1 million when including scientific, technical, and archaic terms.

Javanese is primarily spoken on the island of Java in Indonesia, with over 82 million native speakers. It is the most widely spoken Austronesian language and the official language of the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Central Java. Thailand and Korea speak Thai and Korean respectively, while Java is an island, not a country.

Hong Kong's official languages are both Cantonese and English, reflecting its colonial history and Chinese cultural heritage. While Mandarin is widely spoken due to mainland China's influence, it's not an official language.

Sanskrit is widely regarded by linguists and historians as the mother of many Indo-European languages. Classical Sanskrit's sophisticated grammatical structure, documented by Panini, influenced the development of many European languages through the Indo-European language family. Options A (Urdu), C (Tamil), and D (Saurashtra) are not the mother tongue of European languages.

'S'ayapo' means 'I love you' in Greek. Greek is a Hellenic language with its own unique alphabet. Dutch, Norwegian, and Cantonese are from completely different language families - Germanic and Sino-Tibetan respectively.

'Aloha au ia 'oe' is the Hawaiian phrase for 'I love you.' Portuguese is spoken in Brazil, German is Germanic, and Haitian Creole is based in French. Only Hawaiian uses 'aloha' as both greeting and expression of love.

'Eg elska thig' means 'I love you' in Icelandic. Icelandic is a North Germanic language closely related to Old Norse. Norwegian is also North Germanic but uses different phrasing. German and Dutch are continental West Germanic languages.

'Ez te hez dikim' is the Kurdish phrase for 'I love you.' Kurdish is an Iranian language spoken in parts of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria. Arabic is Semitic, Urdu is Indo-Aryan, and Cantonese is Sino-Tibetan. Kurdish is the only Iranian language among the options.

"Nakupenda" is Swahili meaning "I love you." Nepali, German, and Dutch are Indo-European languages unrelated to the Bantu-based Swahili spoken in East Africa.

"Te amo" is the Spanish phrase meaning "I love you." Ukrainian and Russian are Slavic languages with completely different phrases, while German uses "Ich liebe dich" - entirely different from this Romance language expression.
