Western Philosophy

Thomas Aquinas believed that the primary purpose of government is to promote the common good of all citizens, which includes ensuring justice, peace, and prosperity for the entire community.

Kabir, a 15th-century mystic poet and philosopher, advocated for the concept of 'trusteeship' in his political thought. Kabir's teachings emphasized the importance of compassion, equality, and social justice.

Pythagoras was a Greek philosopher and mathematician who lived in the 6th century BC. He is best known for his Pythagorean theorem, but he also proposed that the Earth was spherical, an idea that was later adopted by other Greek philosophers.

Bertrand Russell, J.L. Mackie, and Daniel Dennett are all contemporary philosophers who have been influenced by Carvaka philosophy. Russell was a British philosopher who argued that the world is composed of matter and that there is no such thing as a soul. Mackie was an Australian philosopher who argued that there is no objective morality. Dennett is an American philosopher who has argued that consciousness is a product of the brain and that there is no such thing as a non-physical mind.

Pyrrho of Elis (c. 360 – c. 270 BCE) is considered the father of skepticism. He argued that all knowledge is uncertain and that we should suspend judgment on all matters.

Logical Positivism is a school of thought in analytic philosophy, not Continental Philosophy.
